Summary

The identified candidate will work in an apprenticeship mode under Dr. Eric Storch in preparation for a career as a Psychologist. The Postdoctoral Associate will be involved in treatment, case conceptualization and clinical research activities. The Postdoctoral Associate will assist in evaluating and analyzing data collected from research staff for new clinical research protocols.


Job Duties
Involved in activities that may include treatment, case conceptualization, and clinical research under the guidance of faculty who serve as clinical and/or research supervisors.
Documents clinical activities.
Evaluates and analyzes data independently.
Establishes new research protocols and procedures.
Develops service line focused on peer support services participating in all aspects necessary to accomplish this goal.
Develops projects focused on peer support services.
Participates in research activities involving OCD and Anxiety.


Minimum Qualifications
MD or Ph.D. in Basic Science, Health Science, or a related field.
No experience required.

Preferred Qualifications
PhD or PsyD from an accredited doctoral program in clinical or counseling psychology.
Experience in a psychiatric inpatient setting.
Experience administering psychological test batteries, including projective measures.

Summary


A postdoctoral fellowship position is available in the laboratory of Lanlan Shen at Baylor College of Medicine. The project involves studying epigenetic mechanisms using in vitro, ex vivo, and in vivo models. We especially welcome applicants who are recent graduates and are interested in pursuing an independent academic career.


The focus of our laboratory is transcriptional regulation by DNA methylation across development and tumorigenesis. The research work will involve a combination of genomics, epigenomics, and CRISPR-gene editing approaches and a variety of model systems including organoids, genetically and epigenetically engineered mice. Next generation sequencing, single cell genomics, and bioinformatics pipelines is an integral part of this fellowship.

Job Duties
Conducts independent research in the field of epigenetics and epigenomics.
Assists with experimental design and data interpretation.
Participates/assists with manuscript writing for publication and/or presentation.
Participates in CNRC journal club, faculty seminars, and fellow seminars.
Presents research (talks and posters) annually at the national and international meetings such as American Association of Cancer Research (AACR) annual meeting, the Keystone Symposium, etc.


Minimum Qualifications
MD or Ph.D. in Basic Science, Health Science, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications
Background in molecular biology or a closely related field.

Summary


The laboratory of Dr. Pavan Reddy in the Dan L. Duncan Comprehensive Cancer Center at Baylor College of Medicine is seeking an enthusiastic Postdoctoral Associate who will work on independent and collaborative projects, and who will contribute to the vibrant and team-oriented laboratory environment.


Dr. Reddy's research focuses on understanding the role of immune cells in blood diseases, cancer and transplantation, with a particular interest for the immunobiology of T-cells and immune responses in Graft vs. Host Disease (GvHD), a pathology that can occur after allogeneic hematopoietic transplantation. His lab utilizes several mouse transplant models including those relevant to GvHD (S.W. Choi et al., Blood, 2015; N.D. Mathewson et al., Nat. Immunol., 2015; H. Fujiwara et al., Nat. Immunol., 2021). The candidate will have the opportunity of participating in mouse bone marrow transplantation experiments and applying advanced technologies such as NGS (RNA-seq, single-cell sequencing).

The candidate is expected to take ownership of their research project, design and perform biological experiments with rigor, be highly organized and communicative, and maintain a strong work ethic. We especially welcome applicants who are recent graduates and are interested in pursuing an independent academic career.


Job Duties
Designs, optimizes, and executes research experiments to answer questions related to research projects.
Responsible for experimental design, analysis of resulting data, and interpreting data independently (with guidance from the PI or other lab members).
Works collaboratively with other lab members, senior researchers, and faculty members at the departmental or inter-institutional levels.
Manages time and multiple projects efficiently while prioritizing deadlines and projects.
Assists PI in training and mentoring research staff, as well as undergraduate and graduate students as appropriate.
Communicates their findings with other scientists at local, national, and international scientific conferences.
Presents and prepared data into figures, written project updates, oral presentations (including lab meetings, journal clubs) to support manuscript writing for publication and grant proposals.


Minimum Qualifications
MD or Ph.D. in Basic Science, Health Science, or a related field.
No experience required.

Preferred Qualifications
Ph.D. and/or M.D. in Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Biochemistry, or Immunology.
Strong background in molecular biology, cellular biology, biochemistry, or cancer biology.
Previous experience with CRISPR technology and/or CRISPR screens.
Willing to work with and/or handle mice.
Good interpersonal and communication skills.
Strong publication record (at least one peer reviewed first-author research article) and experience presenting at national or international meetings.
