Why Your Role Matters

This position will involve research activity in the area of fluid-thermal-structural interactions on high-speed vehicles, spacecraft and propulsion systems. The Research Associate contributes to the development of research results and their publication in international journals, participate at a national and/or international conference/s and assist with teaching activities, as required.

  

Who You Are (skills and experience): 

• A PhD degree in a relevant field of engineering, applied mathematics or physics.
• Demonstrated ability to develop experimental programs and conduct research in computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and/or FEM.
• Demonstrated ability to conduct research in hypersonics, aerothermodynamics and/or fluid-structure interactions.
• Demonstrated ability to conduct innovative and independent research.
• Demonstrated ability to complete tasks within agreed time frames, with suitable supervision.
• Demonstrated ability to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team showing initiative and taking direction as appropriate to the situation.
• Ability to conduct high quality teaching in a university environment and willingness to undertake teaching duties as required.
• Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills appropriate for interacting effectively team members, collaborators and colleagues across the Faculty.
