Key Responsibilities
As a **Quantum Fabrication Engineer**, your responsibilities will include:
* Fabrication and optimization of **superconducting and photonic quantum devices**
* Development, refinement, and documentation of **cleanroom fabrication recipes**
* Translating **device designs into high-yield, reproducible processes**
* Supporting **process integration, troubleshooting, and yield improvement**
* Maintaining **high-quality experimental records and process documentation**
* Working closely with KAUST researchers and external collaborators
Required Qualifications
Essential Skills
* Master’s degree or higher in **Materials Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics**, or a related field
* 3–5 years of hands-on cleanroom fabrication experience** (academic or industrial)
* Strong experience with:
* **Thin-film deposition** (sputtering, evaporation, ALD)
* **Photolithography / e-beam lithography**
* **Dry and wet etching techniques**
* **Micro- and nanofabrication workflows**
Highly Desirable Experience
* Fabrication of **superconducting quantum devices**
* Experience with **photonic integrated circuits (PICs)**
* Device and process simulation using **COMSOL, ANSYS HFSS, FDTD**, or similar tools
