Postdoctoral Associate

The Florida Museum of Natural History invites applications for a two year (24 months) Postdoctoral Scholar to join an NSF-funded research project. This collaborative project leverages high-resolution fossil records from the Bighorn Basin, Wyoming, and innovative AI workflows to investigate the impact of climate change on mammalian functional diversity. The research focuses on the Paleocene-Eocene Thermal Maximum (PETM), a period of intense global warming approximately 56 million years ago, providing a unique opportunity to test models of ecosystem resilience and functional diversity.

A Post-Doctoral Associate position is available at the University of Florida’s Fort Lauderdale Research and Education Center located in Davie, Florida. The post-doc will conduct research under the joint mentorship and supervision of Drs. Mica McMillan (Environmental Horticulture Dept.) and Braham Dhillon (Plant Pathology Dept.), in collaboration with The Davey Tree Expert Company. The successful candidate should have a strong work ethic, excellent time and organizational skills, and be self-driven.

UF Innovate | Pathways is seeking a dynamic and motivated individual to join the team implementing the National Science Foundation’s Innovation Corps (NSF I-Corps) training program at the University of Florida - a partner in the new NSF I-Corps Southeast Hub. The goal of the I-Corps Southeast Hub is to transform research into real-world impact. NSF I-Corps training is an experiential customer discovery and entrepreneurial training program. It empowers researchers with the skills to explore the commercial potential of their innovations. The Project Manager will report to the UF Innovate I Pathways Program Director and play a vital role on the UF I-Corps team. They will support the UF I-Corps team, engage stakeholders inside and outside the university and ensure efficient operation of I-Corps training at UF. This individual will organize and support marketing and outreach activities, manage team recruiting logistics, maintain records of activities including collection and reporting of data, manage technology/learning platforms, coordinate with stakeholders and host trainings. They will proactively manage activities, devise plans to address challenges, create a supportive learning environment and conduct the trainings efficiently. The Project Manager will also participate in relevant Southeast Hub activities and implement best practices. UF Innovate comprises four units in the university’s technology commercialization ecosystem: Tech Licensing, Ventures, Pathways, and Accelerate. Pathways offers training and support programs to educate innovators and accelerate innovation and commercialization at UF. A leader in technology transfer, UF Innovate provides a comprehensive commercialization ecosystem bringing together critical elements including: intellectual property and technology licensing expertise, training, funding and mentorship, as well as facilities, talent, and capital management.
